Cbd for pets? seriously?

YES! Seriously—CBD can provide pets the same body and mind benefits that it does for humans. Most mammals have an Endocannabinoid System (ECS) making them a great fit for our CBD products. Frequently Asked Questions

We understand that pet owners care about their pets as if they were their own children—many of our team can relate! Due to the recent popularity of CBD use for pets, we get a lot of questions asking if CBD would help with everything from pain, inflammation, tics, tumors, end of life, etc.

Should I give CBD to my dog, cat, or other pet?

Due to the increased popularity of CBD in recent times many pet owners are either already giving CBD to their pet, considering it, and in some cases recommended by some veterinarians. If you’re considering CBD as a supplement to your pet’s health it is helpful to understand what it can and cannot potentially do, what the risks may be, and how much to give as a dose.

Pets have the same Endocannabinoid System (ECS) as humans do, with the same receptors that affect pain relief, joint function, sleep, digestion, inflammation, and mood. The ESC works in pets just like it does in humans – to ensure the balance of the body.

When will I see results?

It depends on the condition being treated and also the delivery method. For anxiety issues you may see results in 30-60 minutes, whereas for more chronic issues such as joint pain it may take 2-4 weeks.

Remember there may not always be an immediate effect and it may take some experimentation with dosage as it does in humans.

How much should I give my pet?

Dosage for pet will depend on the weight of your pet in addition to the ailment being treated. If your pet is suffering a larger dose may be needed, whereas a smaller dose may be all that is required as part of a wellness program.

As with humans, it is best to start “slow and low” – Low doses giving over a longer period of time (5-7 days), gradually increasing until a significant improvement is visible. It may take some trial and error to determine the optimal dosage. We have a pet dosage calculator to use as a guide.

How do I give it to my pet?

The administration method will largely depend on your pet. We suggest edibles made specifically with flavors they already know and like. However, if you have a dog, it may be possible to administer drops under the tongue or inside a piece of food.

Using topical CBD products may be effective in treating skin conditions, rashes, and joint pain. To administer – just rub into the skin.
